We're going to the Faroe Islands, the jewel of the Atlantic. The green country between Norway and Iceland consists of 18 islands across the ocean. This Faroe Islands is remote, peaceful, and quiet with its pristine nature. Pyramid-shaped mountains stripped of long fjords, old churches with roofs covered with grass, lakes, stunning waterfalls and colourful houses in small villages overlooking the ocean. For the Faroe Islands Summer Photo Tour, we have prepared a beautiful itinerary that will allow you to visit the most beautiful places in the Faroe Islands that we have seen many times before!

This is not just a photography workshop. It will also be an experience where we will witness the lives of Viking descendants closely, visit the mountains with unique views at the first light of day, taste local food and experience many more surprises. Anyone at any level of photography can join. You can also accompany us just for a stroll and enjoy the beautiful views.

Our schedule may vary depending on weather conditions, but in general, it will be as follows:

DAY 1: Vagar

If you're already a participant of our Iceland photo tour, we will depart from Iceland-Reykjavík airport, or if you join just Faroe Islands trip, you can fly from Denmark-Copenhagen via Atlantic Airways to the Faroe Islands. The flight will take about 2 hours. We'll arrive at Vagar airport before 05:00 pm. We will be going to our hotel with the vehicles waiting at the airport and then leave for dinner. After dinner, we go to Faroe's most iconic and famous waterfall, Gásadalur. This place is worth seeing at sunset! After we take our photos, we go back to our hotel. Our hotel is at a central point of the Faroe Islands. Therefore we'll have easy access to all locations.

DAY 2: Sandavagur

In summer, usually, the sunset is at 11 pm, and the sunrise is at 4 am. The days are quite long. Faroe's cloudy weather and location suggest, the Sunshine is very soft throughout the day. So it's an excellent opportunity for photographers, and it gives you a visual feast throughout the day. So we'll sleep as little as possible and travel a lot.

In the morning we go to lake Sørvágsvatn in Sandavagur. This lake is located on high cliffs along the ocean coast and again spills into the ocean. It's worth getting up early and a 1-hour walk to find a great viewpoint. From here we head towards our second stop, Torshavn. Torshavn is the capital of Faroe. We'll have lunch here and free time to take a stroll through the city. After dinner, we'll go to the village of Saksun. It's an excellent place for sunsets!

Beautiful houses with grass roofs, majestic waterfalls and a small church overlooking the fjord in the hobbit village... After an exhausting day, we go back to our hotel to rest.

DAY 3: Mykines Island

We have a full-day trip to Mykines Island today. This island has a wonderfully authentic village and a beautiful lighthouse at the top of the cliff. It's the most exclusive island in the Faroe archipelago. We leave the hotel after breakfast. We'll take the ferry to Mykines island. As we pass by the islet of 'tindhólmur', which is shaped like a dragon, beautiful views will be awaiting us.

Once we reach the island, we wander through the village and then continue our walk towards the 100-year-old lighthouse. The lighthouse is located on a separate island called Mykineshólmur, but it can be crossed by a bridge. Usually, the trail takes 1 hour for tourists, but we devote 3-4 hours to this walk! Because we're going to photograph the Puffins that made this island famous.Thousands of Puffins nest here in summer. And in some places, we'll be able to get close as a few metres to them to take pictures. We spend a few hours taking great images of Puffins. It's enough to take 70-200 or 100-400 to shoot the Puffins on Mykines island. Besides the puffins, we will have the opportunity to observe many species of land and seabirds at very close range. After we photograph the Mykines Lighthouse and the Puffins, we’ll head back. We’ll be going to our hotel to rest after a nice dinner.

DAY 4: Drangarnir

We'll wake up a little late this morning to rest and sleep. After breakfast, we head to Fossa Falls. We'll see a lot of beautiful scenery to photograph on the road, and we'll have enough time to enjoy it. Then we go for a walk to Drangarnir, where the round trip will take about 6 hours. Drangarnir is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Faroe Islands, but also the most exhausting one. We'll be there at sunset, and after we take our photos, we'll go back to our hotel.

Day 5: Saksun and Gasadalur

In the morning we will go to the villages of Gjogv and Funningur. After taking pictures of these villages, where the Faroe Islands have the cutest houses, we head back to our hotel for breakfast. We'll have enough time to sleep and rest after breakfast. During the day we will go to the villages of Klaksvik and Vidareidi. From Klaksvik, we will walk to a beautiful cruising point that views the islands from afar. After about a one hour walk, we head back to Klaksvik for lunch. Then we go to Vidareidi village. After visiting these two villages, we will go back to the Gasadalur waterfall to photograph the sunset, but first, we will stop in Torshavn for dinner. The village of Gasadalur forms the most classical landscape of Faroe. So we'll visit here twice.

Day 6: Kalsoy Island

After an excellent breakfast, we'll leave for the ferry to Kalsoy island. This island is like a sheep kingdom. For sunset, we'll walk about 1.5 hours from the village of Trollanes in the north of the island to the Kallur lighthouse. Since the round trip here will take about 5-6 hours, we will make our dinner needs with the snacks we carry with us. After an exhausting day of walking, we return to our hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Day 7: Vagar

We're on our way to the airport this morning for your return journey. We'll arrive at the airport before noon.

Note: You can join us on our tour of Iceland, which starts the very next day.
