Iceland! Another planet is surrounded by glaciers, mighty volcanoes, brightly coloured rhyolite mountains, evaporating river systems, bubbling hot water sources, azure lakes and gigantic waterfalls. In our 7-day Iceland Summer Photo Tour, we will visit many hidden spots and untouched beauties of Iceland. We head to the remote highlands region, the Landmannalaugar region, where volcanic miracles occur, and the South Coast, where there are glittering waterfalls, active glaciers and black sand beaches that offer excellent and unique compositions. Then get ready! The summer paradise of the Arctic nations awaits you!

Having been to Iceland many times before, we prepared the ultimate itinerary to ensure that you are in the right place at the right time, according to the current weather conditions at the time. We specialise in shooting in Iceland's volatile lighting conditions. We will be there for you to ensure your safety in the dangerous Icelandic Highlands area and help you develop your photography skills throughout the workshop. As it is forbidden to enter the Highlands area with standard vehicles, we will travel with a special 4x4 comfortable small van.

This is not just a photography workshop. It will also be an experience where we will witness the lives of Viking descendants closely, visit the mountains with unique views at the first light of day, taste local food and experience many more surprises. Anyone at any level at photography can join. You can also accompany us just for a stroll and enjoy the beautiful views.

Our schedule may vary depending on weather conditions, but in general, it will be as follows:

DAY 1: Reykjavik

We will meet before 03:30 pm at Keflavik airport, an hour's drive from Reykjavik, Iceland's capital. We head to our villa where we will be staying with our 4x4 vehicles waiting for us at the airport. After we settle into our villa, we'll go out for dinner. After a nice dinner, we'll go to two exceptional locations where we'll take photos at sunset. Sunset time is around 11:00 pm, we'll have plenty of time ahead. After taking our photos, we go back to our villa to rest.

DAY 2: Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, Dyrholaey and Reynisfjara

On our second day, the real adventure begins. We will start our journey along the south coast with a special 4x4 comfortable small van. This region is one of Iceland's most popular tourist routes, and you'll find out the reason for this very quickly. The main road is lined with charming beauties, very good for sightseeing but even better for photography.

Our first stops will be two of the country's most famous tourist destinations, the Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. The Seljalandsfoss falls over a 63-metre-high cave; which we will be able to walk down the path leading into the cave and photograph the waterfall from a unique angle. Unlike legend, there are no caves behind Skogafoss falls. As well as being more beautiful and more stunning than Seljalandsfoss, it is where Floki in the famous Vikings series seeing the water gods scene was filmed is here. Although both waterfalls are of the same height, the flow rate of the Skogafoss is stronger and broader. If the sun is shining, the rainbow spreads through the mist, allowing you to capture unusual light events. After photographing these waterfalls, we take a lunch break.

For the sunset, we'll go to Dyrholaey on the south coast and photograph that incredible landscape, where the black sand beach contrasts with the white sparkling ocean waves, and then we'll continue to Reynisfjara. This charming coastline was once among the most beautiful non-tropical beaches in the world. The main composition on Reynisfjara Beach will be the rock piles called Reynisdrangar. These two basalt columns rise 66 metres from the stormy ocean, and according to legend, they are the remains of two trawlers who were caught in the morning sun and turned to stone while trying to tow a ship to shore. This is a great photo location for us. There will be powerful waves at Reynisfjara beach, so it is advisable not to get caught up in the beauty of the area and put yourself in danger.

DAY 3: Hidden Location Away From Tourists

Today we have special surprises for you. We will go to unique places of beauty that no one knows and have not yet been touristy, which we have found through great efforts and gruelling research. Forewarned, these landscapes in Iceland will take your breath away!

DAY 4: Fjaðrárgljúfur, Diamond Beach and Jokusarlon Glacier

After an early morning breakfast, we'll head east and tour the vast black sand desert of Sólheimasandur on the way to the Skaftafell Nature Reserve, which is only a small part of the enormous Vatnajökull National Park. We head to the Fjaðrárgljúfur Valley, which became famous worldwide thanks to Justin Bieber’s video. Then we will continue further east and photograph the fantastic beauty of the Jökulsárlón glacial lake, known as the Crown jewel of Iceland. This lake has received this title because of its aesthetic and calm atmosphere. Enormous icebergs set off after breaking off from the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, floating and disintegrating from the backwater of the lagoon. Icebergs bathed in waves on the jet black dunes on the beach as they arrived at Diamond Beach near the lagoon, creating awe-inspiring visuals. After our time at the Jökulsárlón is over, we head back to our hotel.

DAY 5: Geysir Geothermal Region and Kerlingarfjoll Mountains

Today, after a good sleep and a late breakfast, we are going to visit the Geysir geothermal region. The most exciting Geyser here is Strokkur, which sprays its hot water every 5-10 minutes to 15-20 meters Other notable geysers are Blesi and Smidur. To the north, we will see colourful fumaroles (gas and vapours that come out strongly from their mouths and cracks during periods when volcanoes are inactive), and to the south, we will see swamps of boiling mud. After lunch, we head to another location, the Kerlingarfjoll area.

Coloured rhyolite (rock with microlites in it, rich in free silica, which is the same as granite in terms of chemical structure) has an exciting feature of the mountain range Kerlingarfjöll. Under the sunlight, the colour of the minerals on the slopes constantly changes, creating a striking effect. After taking photos here, we will also visit Hveravellir, another geothermal area nearby. Hveravellir is one of the largest geothermal fields in Iceland. Here we will find hot springs, fumaroles fumes and multicoloured rock surfaces. We'll also take a picture of another waterfall nearby. With the mountain backdrop behind it and the dark rocks surrounding it, this is undoubtedly a beautiful stop. Then we go back to our hotel for the overnight stay.

DAY 6: Highlands And Landmannalaugar

Today, after an early breakfast, we will visit the beautiful highland air of Landmannalaugar. Landmannalaugar means “public pools” due to the abundance of natural, geothermal heated hot pools. With its Hot Springs, colourful rhyolite mountains, spectacular rock formations, extensive lava fields and lush vegetation, this region is one of the most popular and photogenic areas in the country. We will photograph these natural wonders and hike north of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier on the Fjallabak Upland Road to get a beautiful view of the area, including the Frostastaðavatn Lake. This footpath runs through a volcanic field of picturesque cliffs, dark sands and moss-covered lava. After enjoying and photographing the beautiful views on the road, we will head to the crater lakes of Bláhylur and Ljótipollur. Ljótipollur means ”ugly pool" and is a bizarre name for this lake. Because the aesthetics of this lake are entirely contrary to its name, the soil colour of the volcanic crater is a vivid red, giving the lake a photogenic contrast due to this feature.

Then we go to see the dozens of waterfalls that coexist in Sigöldugljúfur Canyon While not as well known as other attractions in Iceland, the sigöldugljúfur Canyon is a spectacular place in itself and will result in stunning photographs. The contrast of green mosses, blue ice water and black cliffs makes for a particularly pleasing effect.

DAY 7: Reykjavik

Unhappily, this is your last day. If you have time by plane time, you'll have one last opportunity to see some urban landscapes in Reykjavík, Iceland's capital. Then you will return to Keflavík Airport and board your plane, taking your beautiful memories with you. Bye-bye!
